Now that the day is over and I wait for my chariot (city bus) to whisk me away from the office and back to my home, I shall celebrate some small victories:
1. I managed to wear very uncomfortable shoes all day. In fact, I am still wearing them as I stand at the bus stop. They are really cute, but really high. And really pointy. And really uncomfortable. I don't like to be in pain, but sometimes it's worth it. Especially when my pants are too long and I'm too lazy to get them hemmed.
2. I've been trying desperately to only eat what I bring with me to work ... At work. The only bit of food I popped into my mouth today other than what was in my lunch bag was one half of an Italian cookie that my boss so generously left on the office's snack table. Hooray! And if you're wondering if it was worth it, it was. Yes. Yes, it was definitely worth it.
3. I am taking the bus home for the second day in a row. Eric and I are trying to be green. He drives me to work, and I am supposed to take the bus home, but sometimes I get rides from other people ... Or go to happy hour and wait until Eric can get me. Not today! Hopefully not tomorrow either.
I think that's it. I also remembered four things I forgot to do today while I was sitting at my desk. And I have no clean laundry and our refrigerator needs to be restocked. There are dishes to do, too. But I'm not going to worry about these things. Instead, I will sit on this hot and humid bus (it arrived so quickly), and then hobble home in my uncomfortable shoes and give Barkley a giant kiss on the snout.
Happy Tuesday (again)!
